Building Connection. Strengthening Community.
The Community Recovery Education and Advocacy Team is a community-driven initiative strengthening recovery support by building connections throughout the Greater New Bedford community.

Our Vision

Inclusivity for all pathways to recovery. Recovery for all who want it!

Our Mission

Our Guiding Principle: Recovery for All Who Want It

We welcome all recovery pathways.12-step programs, harm reduction, and other evidence-based practices. (If we make a list, that action is limiting, recovery is a personal decision.)

We provide tailored resources to meet diverse needs and preferences.

We foster a true sense of community and belonging for every participant.

The following Pillars shape our work

  1. Life Skills/Housing/Civic
  2. Engagement;
  3. Wellness;
  4. Spiritual/Tribute;
  5. Social/Recreation
What We Do: The CREATE Recovery Model

Establish a cooperative team dedicated to promoting recovery at events, supporting policy change, and community mobilization.

Collaborate with healthcare providers, counseling centers, and treatment facilities to connect people with support.

Assist with communication to ensure everyone knows about available recovery resources.

Develop outreach strategies such as community meals, pro-social activities, and informational sessions.

Offer peer support and encouragement to individuals at any stage of their recovery journey.

Our team will be actively engaged in activities in all dimensions of our community.

What’s Important to Our Community:

Reducing Stigma through positive messaging, education and civic engagement.

Connection & Belonging through shared activities.

Community Support that is visible and accessible.
